Kent now eligible for Connection Voucher Scheme
24th June 2015 Connectivity, Matthew Cox
Qualifying businesses in Kent are now eligible to receive grants of up to £3,000 to improve the speed and quality of their internet connections under the government’s Connection Vouchers Scheme.
Businesses across Kent will now be able to apply for a grant of up to £3,000 to spend on a new internet connection – allowing them to achieve greater speeds and benefit from increased reliability.
With Carlisle joining at the same time as Kent, this announcement brings the total number of cities and areas eligible for the scheme to 52, following January’s announcement that the scheme would be extended to 50 cities from it’s original 22.
This news is also joined by the announcement that over 25,000 Connection Vouchers have now been issued – testament to the popularity and success of the scheme.
Good news for UK businesses
The continuing expansion of the scheme is great news for businesses across the UK. As the scheme’s area grows, many more eligible businesses can apply to better their connections without having to worry about the high capital investment often associated with advanced internet connections like leased lines.
With these connections, many more businesses can also benefit from the latest technologies available in the UK – implementing cloud computing and VoIP, for example.
